Orthopaedic Residency Graduates

Channing Harwood, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT is an ABPTRFE credentialed Orthopaedic Physical Therapy residency graduate from PTSMC in 2019.

In addition to treating patients at the PTSMC Plainville location, he serves as PTSMC’s Assistant Coordinator of Clinical Excellence and teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford. Channing presented a poster presentation at the 2019 APTA CT Annual Conference entitled, “Non-surgical Rehabilitation of an Achilles Tendon Rupture: A Case Study” and earned his CMTPT certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling in 2022.

Erik Schmitt, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT is an ABPTRFE credentialed Orthopaedic Physical Therapy residency graduate from PTSMC in 2019.

In addition to treating patients at the PTSMC Westbrook location, he serves as a didactic faculty member in the PTSMC Orthopaedic Residency Program teaching wrist and hand content and earned his CMTPT certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling in 2022.

Sam McMullen, PT, DPT, MS, ATC, PES is an ABPTRFE credentialed Orthopaedic Physical Therapy residency graduate from PTSMC in 2021.

In addition to treating patients at PTSMC Southington, Sam is a graduate of PTSMC’s Leadership and Management Development Program and has completed two of three Myopain courses for certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling. Sam also co-teaches Manual Therapy courses to ATCs and continues to work per diem in ATC outreach and continuing education.
