Athletic Trainer

Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers is seeking highly motivated certified athletic trainers to join our team!

PTSMC athletic trainers act as an extension of our clinics to provide athletic training services for the community. PTSMC offers athletic training opportunities across Connecticut in settings including secondary schools and the industrial and public safety sectors.

Athletic trainers provide secondary school contracts with coverage of athletic programs including daily coverage of practices and competitions, as well as evaluation, treatment and management of emergency situations, acute injury, and concussions. In the industrial setting, athletic trainers offer assessment of work-related injuries, promotion of workplace wellness, and risk reduction education.

Essential Duties: 

  • Provide quality care through performing screenings, evaluation, and treatments, and triaging of injuries.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with key stakeholders including other healthcare providers.
  • Provide education to patients and stakeholders regarding injuries and maintain accurate documentation of injury and treatments.
  • Facilitate referrals for treatment and rehabilitation of injury to physical therapists and physicians.
  • Establish community connections and provide educational programs to athletes, patients, and employers.

Physical Therapy Aide

We are looking for outgoing, dependable individuals to assist in the delivery of quality patient care under the direct supervision of experienced physical therapists while also maintaining a clean work environment. Exercise science background and/or prior PT Aide experience preferred. Applicants must be available year-round.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient therapy environment and assist with patient care as directed by the clinical staff
  • Greet all patients in a friendly and courteous manner, observe patients during treatment and report changes in patient’s condition to clinical staff
  • Clean treatment tables, equipment and surfaces and keep supplies stocked
  • Requires various forms of physical effort such as standing, squatting and bending
  • Assist with front desk duties such as answering the phone, scheduling, taking payments, etc
