I highly recommend PTSMC - Essex. Staff are very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant.

I can't say enough about Craig, Mac, and crew. I incurred a severe strain of the MCL in my right knee. I was on crutches & in pain. After a few weeks they got me out of pain and almost back to normal. They are accommodating with scheduling, very knowledgeable, work together extremely well, and are always smiling.

Craig and the other PTs are extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind. They've helped me recover and get back to normal activities.

Both my daughter and I have had recent surgeries and PTSM has been spot on in our recovery. Greatly appreciate their insight and drive to reaching our goals!

The facility itself is very accessible, with plenty of parking. Check in is easy, with little waiting. The therapy area is large and open and kept very clean. Perhaps what’s most important is the quality and attentiveness of the experienced staff, who work well together as a cohesive and friendly team, and are positive and encouraging to their patients.

I wrote the above review a long time ago, before I was fully able to determine the effects of my sessions. Time has gone by, and now I can say with happiness and gratitude that the issues that seemed completely insurmountable at the time are now almost a distant memory—I am barely aware of the painful knee issues that took me to PTSM in the beginning. I can only imagine the number of other happy patients that pass through their caring, professional hands, who have also improved their lives.

29 Feb 2024. The professional PTs are attentive & very complete in administering total physical therapy care. The large therapy room is clean, & orderly, generally quiet. Mack ,one of the PT aides is absolutely excellent -knows how to work w people; clear concise directions. This is not just another exercise gym. Generally, things run on time, almost no waiting. Therapists and staff are caring, friendly, qualified, and attentive. Always on time. It is never pleasant to have physical issues, but it is wonderful to be able to go to a place like this that exhudes good vibes and positivity. Highly recommended.

Experienced, talented and concientious therapists! I’ve been to this practice following two different injuries and have gotten better than back to normal both times.

I came for Physical Therapy because of a knee problem. After consultation with Ann Hall PT, she said that it was not my knee, it was my hip. After many stretching exercises I no longer have knee pain at night. At her suggestion I will be making an appointment with a hip Doctor.

I used this facility to recuperate from two knee replacements 4 months apart. Jules is extremely professional and I felt that I could trust her knowledge and plan for my program. The atmosphere is busy but positive and accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend physical therapy at this location.

This is a very busy p.t. establishment. Each patient has an individualized plan of therapy. The therapists and staff are all very professional, yet friendly.

I have been scheduling appointments here to get help improving mobility and knee issues and have had great results.

I am 79 years young and have been to physical therapy at least 8 times to outpatient therapies in my life but none since 2010 when I had a left knee replacement. I recently had a full knee revision on my 2005 FKA because the polypropylene had worn out needing replacement. Beyond finding John Grady-Benson for my left FKA and this right knee FKA revision, I started with some in-home PT until my Rx was in place at PT & Sports Medicine Ctr at Essex, CT. Well, I can surely say I am receiving the best PT that I have ever experienced under the tutelage of Allison Whelan and others on the staff like Kelly, Craig, Kenny, and associates. The large PT center is in constant harmony with no wasted space nor time in moving from one activity to another. From the moment you enter, you are made comfortable with the warmup and released with variety of exercises that make such a daily and weekly difference. Starting at 89 degrees, in three weeks I have advance to 105 with 15 degrees of knee bend to go and I am sure I will make it. Their therapy is adaptive to your comfort needs and their is no pain thresholds like the few home PT sessions I endured. The teamwork and competency is not only measured by their PT certificates on the wall but extraordinarily but is realized the symphony of their total teamwork, conversation, and results I have obtained with care and tenderness and NO PAIN program exercises. It is simply the best!

First class PT center, not a group applying recipes from a book but instead they understand the problem, form a strategy and apply it. If not progressing, they change it. They work as a team knowing the strategy and keep the patient active.

I highly recommend Craig and Kelly who I personally had the pleasure of having worked with my daughters. The care and work to help get my two teenage daughters to 100% after knee surgeries (ACL and MPFL) was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone in this office from the front staff to the therapists to the assistants is friendly and caring.
